About

Welcome to Weatogue Wellness

Your Journey Begins Here

Let me help guide you on a path to less stress, more clarity, and a new level of presence with yourself, your relationships, and the world around you. It can be a transformative process, but only if you want to transform.

When my wife and I purchased our Simsbury farm in February 2020, we knew we had found our forever home. I grew up catching tadpoles just up the road at Penwood, riding horses at Folly Farm, hiking up Hublein Tower, and doing gymnastics on Hopmeadow. This town played an important role in my childhood, and it felt more like a return than a new move. When I was ready to start my practice, I knew I wanted it to be close by; in part, to have a quick commute to the office; but more importantly, I wanted the practice to be part of a community – to be part of this community. I struggled with the name, but ultimately arrived at Weatogue Wellness.

Originally inhabited by the Massacoe Indians (belonging to the Algonquin Nation), Weatogue was one of two known village sites in Simsbury; the Massacoe word “Weatogue” means “home place,” and setting aside my love for alliteration, this felt aligned with my mission and vision. Home is synonymous with safety; it’s the place we return to, the place that supports us, the place where we can most easily be our pure, unadulterated selves. I hope to provide that same level of safety to my clients, whether in my office or in the comfort of their own homes.

The logo has two main components:

The Vulture and the Tree

The first aspect of the logo is the Vulture. To most, this bird is nothing more than a scavenger – an ugly reminder of death that picks away at nature’s leftovers. But to many cultures across the globe – from the Native Americans to the Egyptians, from Zoroastrians to Mexicans, Romans, Greeks, Assyrians, and Turkish – the Vulture plays a vital role in our world. The Vulture is the healer of the forest, charged with transmuting disease and decay into fertilization. The Vulture holds a wide perspective from its birds-eye view of the earth, encouraging us to examine the world around us and ride the winds of change.

The second aspect of the logo is the tree. Much like the Vulture – but even more ubiquitous – tree imagery and the “tree of life” concept span the entirety of human history. Trees grow in relationship to their environment, adapting to their surroundings. To grow tall, they must expand their roots down into the ground and out beyond the canopy; they intertwine their foundation with the earth so they can withstand the wind at the top. Trees change with the seasons and hold ancient wisdom – much like our nervous systems.

What I Do

I help people find stability within themselves, in part by showing them stability within me. It’s called co-regulation, and it’s what we’ll do together in a session.

The basis of my practice is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, and it can help you unlock your body’s innate healing potential. Most simply put, BCST is a practice of skilled listening; I listen to your words, your anatomy, your emotions. I listen to your stories - both conscious and subconscious: the ones told by your mind and the ones told by your body. I listen to your needs, whether or not you’re able to identify them out loud. My job is to make you feel heard, and to teach you how to hear yourself.

By settling together through co-regulation, we can remind our systems that it’s safe to heal. I bring myself into a deep meditative state and invite you to join in with me; sinking down beneath the surface allows us access to the roots of issues. Then, the body, mind, and spirit can decide what healing processes to prioritize in that moment, and an inherent treatment plan can unfold. I support and follow that inherent treatment plan, and continuously strengthen and maintain safety.

Trust between client and practitioner is the foundation of a safe therapeutic relationship; without deep and meaningful cultivation, success will be superficial and fleeting. Eye contact, active listening, and genuine empathy - paired with a judgement and opinion-free environment - create the circumstances for substantial healing. I strive to create that for each and every one of my clients, and hope to empower them to be their own practitioner, so they can observe and regulate their nervous systems in real time.

As these skills are built, you will start to identify patterned ways of reacting to stress, engaging in relationships, and creating blockages in your body and in your life. The more time we sit and study these patterns from a regulated place, the easier it is to change our relationship to them, and to create new more beneficial patterns.

Humans are waking up and realizing that they don’t have to move through life perpetually stressed, rushed, tired, and anxious. How we navigate that awakening is my concern, and my goal is to help guide clients through what can be an incredibly rewarding and life-altering journey with grace and purpose - slowly, gently, and with their own agency. My job isn’t to heal you, but to help create a space and set of circumstances for you to heal yourself. And over time, you will start to trust your nervous system and learn its language.

Let this be a journey of self-study and introspective inquiry — an opportunity to get to know yourself and how you navigate life.
